(Tone: Sincere) As always it’s a deep pleasure to read your work- thank you for sharing with us 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Out of all of the ones mentioned, Beyond the Bar (one of the few dramas I watched last year before my hiatus) is the best one imho.

Re: Free Food for Millionaires…the writing is superb, yet I must admit on a personal level it rubbed salt into too many of my own wounds that it felt like climbing Everest to get through (the length not a problem as I’m a fast reader)…I related to things that very few would expect me to understand or put together that I might have had similar experiences…or maybe it has to do with the fact that the last 3 Korean/American books I read all had protagonists in their early mid-twenties and mirrored the essence of who I was/thought I was/could have been if I hadn’t gone through the significant traumas I went through at that time in my life…but I digress… I am looking forward to the discussion though 🤗

As always- I remain grateful for your time and words! Happy weekend to you and yours! 🙏🏼🤗💜🖤✌🏼

Hi!

Reading your article was so much fun, as always!! (It also honestly made me want to go back to writing reviews too, haha.) It’s been ages since I last watched Secret Garden (one of the very first K-dramas I ever watched), and wow! I genuinely forgot how annoying Hyun Bin’s character was, haha. Reading this brought a lot of memories back! It wasn't perfect, but I remember enjoying it so much back then, and it’s definitely one of the dramas that made me stick with K-dramas ever since! (Hyun Bin’s iconic suit was not beautiful even by that year’s fashion standards, so I really don’t know what they were thinking haha)

As You Stood By was definitely a compelling watch for me, but I remember it leaving me with very complicated feelings. Everything they went through was so sad, and their motive was clear, but still... It was still hard to relate to them or root for them. I think we usually see an ending where anyone, whether they are the protagonist or not, kind of faces the consequences for what they did, so this drama’s ending was kind of... not satisfying for me.
