Can you feel the bow I am doing in front of you right now? Your righteous indignation on the behalf of me and K-adoptees in general means more than you’ll ever know. 🥰 The mention of BTS and Woosung in a piece about my struggles made me smile. We’ve never met in person but you feel like a kindred spirit. 💜

감사합니다 🙏

Thank you for your article. 💜 I’m half Korean and I grew up in Germany with a Korean mom who forgot her Korean language while living in Germany since the 70s. So she wasn’t able to teach us the language when me and my brother grew up. She wanted to but there was literal no access to anything that was related to Korea. We had one book about Korea with a few pictures that was it. I’m 42 now and I was only able to find Korean classes near me 6-7 years ago. What I want to say is that it’s only NOW in recent years that learning Korean is widely available either through the internet or actual classes at language schools in big cities. I was lucky enough that I was at least able to grow up with Korean food which we also had very limited access too.
