I absolutely loved Doona and at 9 episodes, I’ve been recommending it left, right and centre. I was also happy with the ending and all the feels and fire I felt from and between the leads.,
I really enjoyed A time called you while I was watching, and the different take on time travel, and was amazed by the actors playing such different roles, but I’d almost forgotten about the drama until your review. Oops. (Could be because I’m currently watching 3!)
I feel the “pain” lol. I started an A-Z drama challenge in September but I keep watching dramas that start with the same letter 🤦🏻♀️ (D, S) and several are only once a week, and one is once a fortnight. So I need to start some others soon. 😅
I cananot even fathom peeling back the onion layers of the intersections of fame, expection, gender so forth and so on... let along living it. (paused the show to read this )
I hope you come back after watching the show to share your thoughts. Some people loved it, others were bored. I always look forward to reading other viewers' perspectives!
It's just like anywhere else. Some do, others don't. But if you're talking about the novel "Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982," the author dissects why it's so difficult for women to (1) get hired and (2) remain employed, especially after having a baby.
I just finished "romance is a bonus book" and the whole "mom returning to work" story and being almost unemployable ... is that just extra because it's a drama? Or is it possible it would be that difficult? (As an American living abroad, I'm often debunking Hollywood myths ... except that they do often have a grain of truth ☺️, and so now that I'm watching kdrama I just have SO many "is this just for the sake of drama, or does this really happen??" questions. I feel like it could be a whole q&a substack.) But the novel Kim Jiyoung looks good! Thanks for the rec
I haven't seen either yet, but both come highly recommended by friends and fellow K-Drama fans. I should see it then! I was a little hesitant about Doona because I saw a lot of people mulling over the ending, unable to decide whether they liked it or not. But I think I'll give it a try and see for myself.
I'm not bothered by them, too (in fact my current utmost favourite K-Drama—Mr. Sunshine—has far from a happy ending), but I know some people who purposefully avoid dramas with ambiguous or sad endings. Will let you know once I get around to watching it!

Haha! I know what you mean! I'm currently watching 7 dramas and have a spreadsheet to keep track!

I binged. It was so short that it was easy to!

Do moms in Korea not work?

I'm not bothered by ambiguous or 'unhappy' endings, but I know they're not for everyone. I'm curious to know what you think of it now!

can we get daring and talk about this? https://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20231107000577I also totally respect that this is not the forum/place for this too. So my asking, is an honest ask.
It says the article has been deleted and/or doesn't exist...
