Jung Hae In was the first K-drama actor that stole my heart. “Pretty Noona” was the second k-drama I ever watched and I couldn’t get enough of him. He is so versatile in his acting. I also fell even more in love with him after watching his travel log. He just seems like such a sweet human. I can’t wait for his next drama!
He has such a sweet face and is such an emotive actor. I love his work. And, yes! His travel log was so much fun. I kept wishing he'd do another one...
I know that series as 'Something in the Rain' and I loved it. I started to watch it because of Son Ye-jin who I'd seen in CLOY. I then also watched One Spring Night as it was by the same writer/director combo. I loved that too. I do not know the travel log, but if you have a link I would be very interested. Not sure if I can get access to it here in Australia, but I can dig around.
Hi Marjolein! Way back when, there was supposed to be a trilogy... PRETTY NOONA WHO BUYS ME FOOD (aka SOMETHING IN THE RAIN), ONE SPRING NIGHT ... and a 3rd one that never materialized. I still have hope for it...
Many thanks for the links. YouTube worked for me. We do not get kocowa in Australia and Disney+ clearly did not have the license for this region as it was not available here. I get that a lot, also with VIKI.
That’s exactly how I discovered this actor! He was amazing in “Snowdrop” too. (Although that had some plot issues). I watching “Something in the Rain” most recently and the second male lead syndrome was REAL. I don’t know if I could watch “DP”.
OMG...no I didn't just do that. I am such a fan- the first show I saw was "Something in the rain" so satisfying. The travel log was lovely and I too was so surprised at the editing. I particularly liked when he insisted his friends get the full experience sitting on the stairs in Times Square ..such a good host. Prison Playbook is just about my favourite K-drama. It balances all the particularities of the genre with moments that stop you cold. D.P. was a difficult watch Season two didn't dissapoint either Jung Have In is just fun to watch.
I remember him saying in the Travel Log that he wanted to return with his family. And he did not too long ago, and that made me so happy for him (and his family)! I am really looking forward to "Mom's Friend's Son"! Can't wait, actually... lol!
The first one I saw him in was Snowdrop on Disney+. It's a phenomenal heartbreaking tragedy and he fits into the vintage boy vibes so well. It's always going to be in my top 20 fave Kdramas.
Jung Hae In captured my heart from 'Something in the rain'. I don't know how many times I have watched that drama. I've watched all his movies, especially Snowdrop which I watched until the end even with tears running down my face. I love his smile, the soulfulness in his movies. My keyboard knows his name even before I finish typing it. He's also the first Korean actor I followed on Instagram. I'm impatiently waiting for his next drama

I appreciate your synopsis of this series. I liked it, but honestly couldn't watch the episodes where the mother said they couldn't be together and where they, subsequently, were not. Their love and caring for one another was so strong - I couldn't fathom why someone would use their class differences to deny that, AND why she would encourage her daughter to be with her abuser.
I'm stunned by the revelation that parents would abandon their children in order to marry someone else! Wow.
And I agree about the writers not taking on more of the sexual harassment issue here. The character played by Son Ye Jin is strong - she would have played it well.
One last thing - I downloaded a song from the soundtrack (where she's dancing in the office) that is not in English.
Those storylines you're talking about from "Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food" are recurrent in several other K-dramas. It's important for those issues, difficult though they may be to watch, to be addressed. So I'm glad they are being presented and discussed in these shows.
The song you downloaded... Was it "I Am the Best" by 2NE1? That's a classic!
I loved "Pretty Noona ..." This was the second K-Drama for me and I was so drawn in by the story line. I dislike any culture that doesn't care for orphans and older folk. I was totally ashamed of Noona's family for tolerating the mom's rantings. Dad literally was spineless. While we should be respectful to our parents, they should know also be respectful and never cross the line like this mother did. Note to would-be mothers-in-law - please don't try this stunt if your children are courting someone from the Caribbean.
DP was truly a difficult watch, but both the issues it shed light on and the performances of the actors deeply impressed me. In my opinion, it's one of those shows you won't forget even years after watching. I think Jung Hae-in is one of the exemplary actors, both because of his acting and the projects he chooses. (That's why I found Love Next Door a bit disappointing but that's a topic for another article haha) I enjoyed the review!
Both seasons of DP touched on very difficult (and sometimes difficult to watch) topics. But it's also essential that people are cognizant that these are real-life issues. About Love Next Door...lol I found the first two episodes to be lacking, but am enjoying the subsequent episodes so far. I am hopeful that the story arcs continue to be intriguing.
I don't know if you're watching No Gain, No Love, but I'm really enjoying that series! (Not a Jung Hae-in show, though.)
Love Next Door isn’t bad, but I found the constant fight between the two leads a bit exhausting. Maybe it gets better in the later episodes. After you mentioned No Gain No Love, I started watching it, and I LOVED it! I didn’t expect to enjoy a fake marriage drama this much, especially after watching so many of them before, but it’s really fun. Thank you!:))

I watched the travel show on KOCOWA: https://www.kocowa.com/en_us/season/5980894/jung-hae-ins-travel-log
It's also on Disney+: https://www.disneyplus.com/series/jung-haeins-travel-log/771Y68da4n4B
KBS' YouTube page also has it for free (with ads): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMf7VY8La5RFY8ct1WvLBzT7CiiK8wmcR
Good luck! I hope you find it! It's a lot of fun...

Wait, which man are you referring to as the second male lead (syndrome)?
Oops! Wrong drama! While You Were Sleeping!
☺️ I completely agree!!

He just did a travel show with Im Siwan where they go to Scotland. Have you seen that yet? It's pretty good!
I have not, yet. But it's on my watch list. I can imagine those two would get along well!

Do you remember what your second June Hae-in K-drama was?? So many people got into him from "Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food"!
I think it was Goblin actually. 😂 I need to check my list to see if I've even seen My Pretty Noona!
