I am so glad you posted about this. I just finished the 1938 one and was puzzled a lot. Not so puzzled in the first Tale... My question for you is: doesn't a viewer have to have a more rounded understanding of Korean folklore? As the drama moved from one to another. I really liked the talking baby and how those few episodes played out. I'm in the USA and really didn't like Greek mythology.. but somehow, I find myself loving Korean. I also appreciate the look at resistance fighters throughout the years and how it is often portrayed in Korean Dramas. Again, thank you for your reviews and interviews.

Thank you for responding (as you are always so good at doing just that). I do want to clarify, that I enjoyed 1938 but found my knowledge lacking. I wondered if anyone else felt the same way in your sphere. I guess I am one of those who are still looking to learn all I can about Korean and I know that folklore plays a huge role in Kdramas and I would assume (or hope) in the people themselves.
I started "Miss Granny" last night. From the minute she was on the screen, I knew I had seen her in something else. It drove me crazy. This morning I woke up and the first thing that popped into my head was "My Lovely Sam-Soon"! She was Jin-heon's mom! Wow! I've just watched the first episode, but I like it already. Thanks for reviewing it, it was not on my radar. You sure can pick 'em!

I love Miss Granny. Even with several adaptations the message of the story never fails to resonate with viewers.
