(Tone: Sincere) As always- I absolutely Love reading your articles- thank you for sharing your perspectives, time, & energy with us readers! 🙏🏼💜🙏🏼

My introduction to Wi Ha-Joon (brilliant actor) was through 2018’s Something In The Rain and then shortly after 2019’s Romance Is A Bonus Book– I recall yelling out to the empty room, “Oh! Oh! I recognize him!” Lol (Even though I’m aware of my ‘super-recognizer’ classification I still get excited).

Of course, while drama recommendations remain [Edit] subjective* I have to say my favorite of his is when he played K alongside Lee Dong-Wook as Ryu Soo-Yeol in 2021’s Bad and Crazy. 😎🤘🏼

Re: Park Gyu-Young- she’s absolutely stellar! I remember pulling my hair out (figuratively) since people weren’t engaging more re: the thematic of Celebrity back in June 2023. The social critique of the influencer either sent people into avoidance mode or deer in headlights (perhaps I’m being a bit harsh?). Or maybe I just forget that they’re not like me (watching every drama airing) and were more engulfed with King The Land or looking forward to the 2nd season of D.P. (aired a month later).

Re: Park Sung-Hoon is platinum in my eyes. Every so often we get to see him in a role where he’s not a villain, like in 2023’s ‘Not Others,’ which I think was under-viewed & under-discussed.

Re: Kang Ha-Neul- introduction for me was 2013’s The Heirs followed by 2016’s Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo 🥰 He’s a joy to watch no matter what!

[Edit: Start] (Tone: Miffed) I just reread over my comment & saw that what I wrote about Im Si-wan wasn’t there 😱- I clearly had a glitch or my mind is playing tricks on me 🤯🤦‍♀️ I first saw him in 2017’s The King In Love and he won me over. He chooses such interesting roles & I so appreciate him for it- he’s also a brilliant actor of course!!

(Tone: Sincere) In any case, Re: Summer Strike 💯 a slow burn like you said. I also strongly second pushing through it anyway!! [Edit: End]

Re: Rolling Stone article- absolutely brilliant 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Loved it! I started listening to Hannah after your first article that you shared! Grateful to both of you! 🙏🏼 I’m thrilled you’re experiencing the joys of living something once seemingly impossible. Celebrating this with you!!!

Re: Ideas for future articles- I’m certainly not the only one who enjoys your articles no matter the topic. However, since you’ve asked I’ll brainstorm & get back to you!

In the meantime, thank you for your words- they’re always a highlight! Looking forward to Tuesday’s article! A happy weekend to you & yours! 💜🖤✌🏼

Oh no! Computer glitches are so annoying! I've had things like that happen where I wrote them down, re-read them and fixed typos and then poof, they're gone!

I was really surprised that CELEBRITY didn't catch on more with viewers and that there wasn't a big buzz about it. But who knows. Shows that I think are going to be huge hits sometimes flounder and vice versa.

And I love that you started listening to Hannah's music after my newspaper article. Yay, I was helpful!

Thanks for adding your input!

(T: Agreeing/Sincere) Re: Computer glitches- so annoying! 🙃 Sigh. When they happen I have my mom’s voice in my head saying, “Now why could this be a good thing?” (It’s a good tip for a pivot…it can just take me awhile depending on what else is going on.) lol

Re: surprised…Celebrity- you & me both! This particular drama had me real angry at the collective since the responses to dramas (by proxy their charts) are telling as to the status quo. Low viewership & surface-level discussion was the opposite of what I hoped for/expected. To be fair, it’s understandable since we’ve not only been going through the wringer we’ve been incessantly figuratively water boarded on a global level these last few years…[Edit] I’m going through a similar experience as it pertains to When The Stars Gossip…but I digress.

Re: Hannah- 😎🥳 I’m very grateful!

Re: Input- I’m always happy to engage! Thank you* for your articles; they’re always thought-provoking & inspiring! (Also another thank you for indulging my comments. I tend to feel bad when they’re on the longer side since I don’t want to take up too much of your time!)🙏🏼💜🖤✌🏼

Scarlett Liked your enthusiam and honesty, and respect for Jae-ha v much.

A v cool rock journo with a sense of time, place and purpose, and history.

I am at present right now listening to Hannah. I am of Australian Irish Celtic extraction but do have Korean/Japanese family also and other interesting family; Spanish, Chilean and more.

Korean Australians while small in number are one of the fastest growing of our diasporic communities.

The other person I am listening a lot to is Lee Lang after her live performance at the second impeachment hearing. V cool indie rocker in both style and vocals.

(Tone: Sincere) Thank you for the kind words, Cristoffa! I will surely remain enthusiastic, honest, & respectful– Jae-Ha is 1 of my favorite journalists!

Hannah is brilliant & admittedly I’ve only listened to a few songs from Lee Lang (I like her indie-folksie style)!

How wonderful for you to have such a rich background!! I like to believe that it can be really helpful to get along with others when we tune into the different cultures of our lineages. Of course, much also depends on nature vs nurture…but I digress. I just wanted to say I think it’s very cool!

Happy weekend to you & yours! 💜🖤✌🏼

Thanks Scarlett, liked your reply.

I am in a bit of a rush to catch the bus into CBD Brizvegas (not real name which is Brisbane and First Nations name is Meanjin, for part of it) to attend anti- Australia Day March (the Brit colonial founding of Sydney in this day in 1788.

Called Survival Day or Invasion Day by many First Nations people here. And myself. So off to march and nice that it is a bit cooler and sub 30 C.

A discussion for later perhaps.

Another K Rocker, older than me, to send to you, but can't do on this page.

You should track Jae-ha on her Substack back posts but also on her Rolling Stone articles. So Cool.

I wasn't crazy about Queen of Tears *or* The Glory, but Park Sun-hoon's role in the The Glory was often so funny. My favorite scene involved his dog: you're sure he'll have gotten rid of it, but instead, he has her groomed. I really wanted a redemptive arc for his character. Reformed by dog. Oh well. Both those shows, I didn't get the hype for. Maybe I'm missing something. Oh, and don't get me started on Squid Game 2! This has to be one of the most disappointing season 2 shows I've ever seen. I loved the first season; there really didn't need to be another season. But if they had to do one, it'd have been nice to have new songs, new set designs, etc. Such a great cast, and they were wasted. I regret watching it, and probably won't return to 'season 3' (aka part 2 of season 2). If White Lotus is an object lesson on how to run a season 2, Squid Game is an object lesson on how *not* to do it.
