My 3rd K-Drama and I've returned several times since! I fell for Lee Jong-Suk after seeing him in Romance is a Bonus Book. And Jin! I love seeing him so out there since release from the Army. He is so funny in his RUN JIN series - who knew he was an introvert.

Lee Jong-suk is one of my favorites, and I thought he did so well in this series, which is rather dark (esp. for those of us who already knew the history and therefore how it would end 💔).

And Jin has absolutely been killing it post-military! I am so happy to watch this era of his renaissance!

This was actually one of the first K-Dramas I watched because I'm both a trained musician and history geek and was totally unaware of this moment in classical music history. So fascinating and tragic and as you said, for a limited series, so beautifully paced (and filmed!).

I'm so glad you watched this show, Barb! It seems that a lot of K-drama fans missed out on it the first time around. I hope Netflix brings it back.

Gah! I watched this before I watched “While You Were Sleeping” and missed all those connections. It’s fun to recognize the non-leads who turn up again and again. We were already hooked on KDramas by the time this one worked its way to the top of the list. It was beautiful and so so sad. We knew it was based on a true story but the whole piece “read” like it wasn’t going to end well. However, the honor of our first non-happy ending KDrama goes to “Mr. Sunshine” which is brilliant.

And ok, confession, I’m not Army, but I will definitely check out Jin’s new song! (I made the mistake of listening to “Apt” with Rose and Bruno Mars and it’s stuck there. Apologies if even mentioning it has set off the ear worm for anyone else and not just me)

Thank you for sharing, Leanne! And oh my goodness, the ending of "Mr. Sunshine" - so many people were unhappy about that, but it rang true. (That's one of my favorite K-dramas ever!)

I hope you enjoyed "I'll Be There." And, yes, "Apt" has been going through my head nonstop since it's release. Parts of it remind me of the infectiously catchy bits in Toni Basil's "Mickey."

Ok now I have that song in my head too! 🤣🤣 Yeah, and as much as I love a happy ending, “Mr. Sunshine” is on my rewatch list. The first rewatch was after I had a few more KDramas under my belt and had learned a bit about the culture. Would love to watch it again.
